“On a starry night, stand outside with a hand held mirror (emblem of truth). Reflect seven stars in the mirror, on seven consecutive days, and make your wish on each of the seven stars.””
Miss Divioleta is therefore a reclusive but adorable 21 years old Spanish
singer that rides two rails: remembrance and melancholy. Her enigma is
unlocked here with metaphors of the turning of the seasons, the flight
of birds and the mystery of the looking glasses. The record is a meditation
about the fictious life of a pretty daydreamer. All elements are combined
in such a charming, cute and delicate way that you find them hard to resist.
In fact, the songs were especially written by reputed Kings Midas of gentle,
timeless, savoir-faire pop. Think of melancholic, gentle, airy, indie
pop songs written by Violeta Gómez, Alberto Matesanz ( Mate, Plastic D'amour),
Miguel Ángel Villanueva (Los Brujos), Fernando Márquez El Zurdo ( La Mode
) and Sergio López De Haro ( Kikí D'akí). Add some covers of songs once
used or written by Claudine Longet, Chocolat- Hideki Kaji, Swan Dive…
