“Confronting the audience with the sole arms of a guitar and one’s own
voice is not any easy task. Stripping the songs from their arrangements
and choruses may be an even riskier experiment. This is exactly what Mate
(Alberto Matesanz) did during an intense, intimate and beautiful evening.
At a concert that made clear what everybody knows by usually forgets:
that the important things are the songs, and that if they are good enough
they will survive even without ornamental elements”.
